Run by a lovely couple, we arrived very early in the morning and Arvind was there to greet us. Location is very good, not inside the old city but within easy walking distance and near ATM's and bakerys etc. Room was nice and the general balcony was nice and relaxing. I highly recommend this place if you are wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the old city without being out of touch!

The location is great because it is tucked away and less noisy, which is a change from the busy streets of Jaipur.

What a great place! And the owners are such great people! Cozy, clean room and central location. Cheers from Heine and Silje.

This place was wonderful. The rooms are clean and well presented. Its location is ideal. The owners Arvin and Shoma are extremely helpful and we felt very much at home. We highly recommend this guest house.

One of our best stays in India until now. Perfect breakfast included, internet access, laundry service and top roof terrace. Very friendly, travellers-understanding hosts.
jlazar8770, Germany | Couple 25-30 | 17th January 2009
Arvind and Shoma were very gracious hosts and very helpful in navigating Jaipur. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport and set us up with a tour guide for our one full day in Jaipur. I would recommend The Explorer's Nest to anyone travelling to Jaipur and would definitely stay there again

We had a fantastic stay with Arvind and Shoma. They were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. I would recommend this hostel to anyone. It is in a great location with easy access to the sites, bazaars and restaurants.

This hotel completely surprised us. This is one of the nicest and most comfortable guesthouses we have stayed in India. This guesthouse isn't in the Lonely Planet yet - but surely that's only a matter of time. The owners have outdone themselves to make thier bed and breakfast welcoming and comfortable. We wholeheartedly recommend!

This is the best hostel in India. I have a good time during the new year eve. The owners set a party for us. Thank you for their wonderful hospitality.

This was an excellent place to stay, one of the best places we\'ve stayed in all our travels. The owners were great, the home-cooked meal delicious, and the rooms lovely. We also really appreciated the New Year\'s celebration they put on for us. You\'d be a fool to come to Jaipur and not stay here! The only less than perfect thing is the hostel can be hard to find, so I recommend getting a hostel pick-up when arriving. Once you have the location sussed though it\'s an easy walk to the Pink City
Lauren, New Zealand | Couple 25-30 | 31st December 2008
Run by a husband & wife, they offer a great place to stay, and the location is just a short walk to the old city. Not only this, they are also happy to sit down with you and have a chat about all and sundry. Highly recommended.
tcraven, England | Male 31-40 | 25th December 2008
The best hostel/home stay I have stayed in after 5 years of traveling the world. Excellently located outside the walls of the pink city. Early morning Yoga session on the roof and good honest kite flying with the owner, Arvind, battling the local kids before a fantastic breakfast included I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in a lovely family environment, and experience a real taste of India. With 6 hours notice you can have a home cooked meal too.
Richard, England | Couple 25-30 | 17th December 2008
When I read the amazing reviews this place had got, I had to see for myself if it could really be true. IT IS! A very nice and comfortable place to stay!

A charming, tiny bed and breakfast. Lovely couple, felt very at home with them. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Irene, Israel | Female 25-30 | 11th December 2008
The owner is very helpfull. Arrange for an airport or train station pick up with the owner of the hostel, otherwise make sure you have a rickshaw/cab driver who speaks english as the hostel is not easy to find

Arvind and Shona are fantastic. Easy going, and great conversationalists. Beautiful rooms and service. Great for a treat or for a European quality stay. Will definately be back.
Gareth, Wales | Couple 31-40 | 05th November 2008
This is a really nice place to stay in Jaipur and takes you away from the crazyness outside. The rooms are clean and spacious. The family are very friendly and helpful and theres a lounge area where you can meet the other travellers and chat etc..free breakfast was great.
Lewis, England | Couple 18-24 | 15th November 2008
A great little hostel in Jaipur with very friendly staff/owner who are extremely helpful and attentive to all needs. The rooms are basic, but what can you expect for the price!? However it is all you need for your stay. Breakfast is included which is a bonus and I couldn't recommend this little gem of a place more!
katie, England | Female 25-30 | 20th November 2008
One of the best hostels I have been in India.
marlonolivos, Peru | Male 31-40 | 11th November 2008

This was the best place we stayed in India. The owner is so nice and really made us feel at home.
km helbrough, England | Female 18-24 | 14th October 2008
Arvind and Shorma are the best hosts you could hope for. The do whatever they can to make you feel like and honourable guest. I would definitely stay there again. I would recommend that you ask for a room on the main level as the ones on the upper level tend to be very hot in the evening.
jensen, Canada |16th October 2008
This place was the best!!! The owner was the nicest person I met in India, because he offers true hospitality, and made me feel like in my owm home. He even gave me a natural home remedy for my sprained ankle and it made it all better!! I really thank him for all the help. I will come back!!! Forgot my towel!! Pura vida!!!
adri, Costa Rica | Female 18-24 | 30th September 2008
Usually I don't give such high percentage because I think nothing is perfect, but in this place everything is just great!!
msutter, Switzerland | Male 25-30 | 27th September 2008
Its such a good place to stay when in Jaipur, walking distance to the old city and to the new part of the city, its just behind a main street. Colonel Grover and his wife are really nice people, they will make everythn thats possible to make you feel like at home.
abrahamgbj, Mexico | Male 18-24 | 28th August 2008
I absolutely loved my time in the Explorer's Nest - to have a room that opened onto a rooftop terrace with views across Jaipur was fantastic - not to mention the Colonel's excellent breakfast and good chat!

We rally enjoyed our stay, the owners were extremely helpful and friendly. It was so nice to stay in a guesthouse where we could chat with very lovely and intelligent people. Location is excellent, but yet tucked away in a little secure and safe position. We would highly recommend The Travellers Inn as a place to stay.
